Packaging in one form or another has been part of human civilization for a long time. The importance of packaging is becoming increasingly significant nowadays. Methods of preserving and distributing goods are the essential part of daily life.

The importance of packing hardly needs stressing because it is almost impossible to think of more than a handful of foods that are sold in an unpackaged state.

*Advertises and promotes suppliers and products. Packaging has been recognized as an independent and potential selling tool. It perform promotional function.

*Protection to the product is an essential function of packaging

*Maintain storage medium integrity, whether liquid or gas

*Protect from physical damage

*Enables safe, efficient movement and handling

*Packaging preserve the quality of the product. It should not pass or absorb any flavor or odor to the product or react with it.

The packaging of a product helps people identify it quickly and determine what its function is. But the importance extends well beyond functionality.
